On 15th March 1985, the first .com domain name was registered. This makes the date the dot-com birthday. The domain name was Symbolics.com and registered by Symbolics, Inc., a computer manufacturer.

Here is a surprising fact – the first 10 dot-com domain names were registered over a period of one year!
