The Giordano Bruno crater forms on the moon. The event is witnessed by five Canterbury monks on 18th June 1178.
Scientists believe that the present oscillations of the moon’s distance from the Earth are a result of the impact that caused the crater. By the way, the oscillations are of very small magnitude… only a few metres.
