The cinema industry debuted on 28th December 1895 when audience paid the Lumière brothers for viewing their film. The movie was played at the Grand Cafe in Boulevard des Capucines.

The Lumière brothers are credited to have been the world’s first filmmakers with their movie, Sortie de l’usine Lumière de Lyon, being the world’s first true motion picture film.
