Charles Darwin receives Alfred Wallace’s letter

On 18^th June 1858, Charles Darwin received a letter from another naturalist, Alfred Wallace. The letter detailed Wallace’s own theory of evolution with was markedly similar to what Darwin had come up with. This prompted Darwin to publish his evolutionary theory.
