The two sections of the Channel Tunnel – one from the UK and the other from France – met 40 meters below the seabed on 1st December 1990. The tunnel runs for 50.5 kilometres and, at it’s deepest point, is 75 meters below the seabed. It connect Kent in the UK to Pas-de-Calais in France.
