Champagne was made for the first time on 4th August 1693 by Dom Pérignon. Actually, this is just a traditional date. In fact, the credit for inventing champagne to Dom Pérignon is also debatable. However, everyone agrees that Pérignon was an innovator who developed several techniques used for perfecting sparkling wine.
