The Apple Macintosh computer was introduced via an iconic ad on 22nd January 1984. The $1.5 million advertisement directed by Ridley Scott was aired during Super Bowl XVIII. Apple Macintosh is regarded as the first consumer computer that popularised the graphical user interface (GUI) and the mouse.
