Apple launched the Macintosh personal computer on 24th January 1984. The computer was introduced via an advertisement directed by Ridley Scott and aired during Super Bowl XVIII a couple of days before. Macintosh was the first consumer computer to popularise the graphical user interface and the computer mouse.
