Amedeo Avogadro died on 9 July, 1856

Italian physicist who made an important contribution to molecular theory. The Avogadro’s Law states that equal volumes of gases under the same conditions of temperature and pressure contain an equal number of molecules. The Avogadro’s constant defines the number of entities in 1 mole of a substance – 6.023 X 1023.
