Amazon.com, founded by Jeff Bezos, launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the 15 May 1997. The company was started as an online bookstore in Bezos garage. In years to come, it becomes the largest online marketplace selling almost everything under the sun!
Here is an interesting fact. Amazon was incorporated as “Cadabra” in 1994. Later, Bezos realised that it sounded like “cadaver” and renamed it after the South American river.
