Alfred Korzybski Birthday

Polish-American engineer, philosopher and mathematician who developed general semantics. His main contention was that human knowledge and our perception of the world is limited by the nervous system and language – the actual reality is different because is comes to us filtered. He is famous for the dictum, "The map is not the territory".
