The microblogging and social media web site, Twitter, was founded on 21st March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams. The world’s first tweet was posted by Dorsey the very next day. However, the service was officially launched later that year on 15th July 2006.
