Groups and Symbols can be stacked relative to each other using Arrange from the Modify menu. Its options are:

- Bring to Front: Puts the selected object on top of the rest.
- Move Ahead: Brings the selected object one level above.
- Move Behind: Takes the selected object one step lower in the stacking order.
- Send to Back: The selected object is moved at the lower most level of the stacking order.
Let's look at some examples:

In the figure on the left, we have three objects. The circle has been stacked at the lowest level. Above it is the rectangle and the square is at the top.

Applying the Send to Back option on the square places it at the lower most stacking level. Now, the order from bottom to top is: square - circle - rectangle.

The circle can now be brought to the front by Move Ahead option. The stacking order is square - rectangle - circle.
