Flash comes along with 6 in-built gradients, out of which two are linear and the others, radial. Further, you can unleash your creativity and make your own gradients.
Clicking on the color icon in the modifier tray opens up the color palette. You can either be satisfied with the colors Flash has to offer here or click on the top icon
to open up the color window.

The Solid tab lets you define a custom color and also set its alpha (tranparency) value. To create a new color, click on the New button and select it from the palette. The hue of the chosen color can be changed using the color slider. The Alpha slider and its associated text field lets you specify the transparency value. Color can also be defined by typing its RGB or hexadecimal values in the text fields provided. Click on Change button when you are through.

To create a custom gradient start with clicking on the New button, select Linear or Radial type from the drop down menu. A gradient is made up of two or more colors represented by icons that look like
