Thanks for the instructions on how to create a Yahoo email signature. However, I needed some more help and would be grateful if you can sort this out for me. Is there a way to put an image in the Yahoo email signature? Can I use my business logo?

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to put an image in a Yahoo email signature. However, this doesn’t mean that it cannot be done! It’s actually quite simple and in just a few minutes you can have a business logo, a photograph or a scanned copy of your actual signature included in the email signature of a Yahoo account.

There is just one small issue. The image you are planning to put in the Yahoo email signature needs to be on the web; i.e. the image should reside on an internet server. Any server will suffice but bear in mind that if it goes offline, the image might not show up in the email signature. Hence I strongly recommend that you use Flickr.com, the free image hosting service owned by Yahoo. Refer Yahoo photo album, to know more about it.

Note: These instructions have been worked out on the Yahoo All-new Mail interface using Google Chrome; you would have to pick equivalent options in your chosen web browser.

  1. Start the web browser and load the Yahoo sign in page as well as the Flickr.com web site in two separate tabs/windows.
  2. Login at both Yahoo and Flickr services. If you don’t have a Flickr account, you can create one with the Yahoo ID.
  3. Upload the image you want to use in the Yahoo email signature to Flickr [Slide 1]. Make sure it’s been resized and optimized for email. Click the “Your Photostream” link on Flickr to have the image displayed [Slide 2].
  4. On the Yahoo email account, go to “Options” -> “More Options” -> “Signature” and select “Show a signature on all outgoing messages“.
  5. Type in the text for the Yahoo email signature [Slide 3]; I’ll tell you how to include the image in a moment.
  6. Go back to the Flickr window and right-click on the image. Select “Copy image” or equivalent option [Slide 4].
  7. Immediately move to the Yahoo email signature text box and click at the place where you want the image to appear. Right-click and select “Paste” [Slide 5]. The image will appear in the email signature instantly [Slide 6].
  8. Remember to click the “Save” button [Slide 7].

Wasn’t it easy to put an image in the Yahoo email signature? And you can not only include a business logo but also a photograph or a scanned copy of your actual signature… how cool is that?
