Telescope demonstrated by Galileo Galilei

On 25^th August 1609, Galileo Galilei demonstrated his telescope to the Venetian lawmakers. The Italian astronomer observed several heavenly bodies using his instrument including the four largest moons of Jupiter (the Galilean Moons) and the planet Neptune.
