Neil Armstrong died on 25 August, 2012

American astronaut and the first person to walk on the moon on 20th July 1969. He was a naval pilot and a test pilot before being selected selected for the U.S. Air Force’s Man In Space Soonest program. Armstrong’s first space flight was on 16th March 1966 as the commanding pilot of Gemini 8. His second and last spaceflight was on the Apollo 11 craft where he was the commander. When he landed on the moon, Armstrong said the now famous words, "That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".
