This is in response to Hunter who asked “…how do I delete my blog at Blogger?“. As many of you might be aware, Blogger is a service owned by Google that lets you make a free blog or a web log. If you no longer wish to maintain the blog web site, you can either ignore or delete it altogether. But this is not so straightforward.
The thing is, your Blogger account is tied up with your Google account and the problem of deleting a blog at this service becomes complex if you are using other services offered by the company. At the time of writing, there is no direct way of closing just your Blogger account. You can, however, delete your Google account which means you have to let go of all the other services you may be using – Gmail, Talk, Orkut etc.

Thus, you cannot close your Blogger account but can delete individual blogs and your personal details. To do this, log in to your Blogger account. At the Dashboard, click on the “Settings” link under the blog you want to delete.
This takes you to the “Basics” tab of the settings section. You’ll find the “Delete blog” near the top – click on it and then confirm you action on the next page. That’s it, your blog is has now been closed.
I also suggest that you clean up your profile page and remove any personal details and for the required form fields, enter any false information.
