Macromedia makes a variety of products that include Director (for CD-ROM and other presentations) and Flash, one of the best web presentation technologies. It has now taken a web-centric approach to its business by releasing Fireworks (web graphics manipulation program) and DreamWeaver (a WYSIWYG web page editor).
Macromedia Fireworks

In version 3.0, at the time of writing. Fireworks is an easy to use web graphics software. It allows for vector text and shapes, which can then be saved as web graphics. Further, the program has useful "Preview" feature and integrates well with other macromedia products especially DreamWeaver.
Macromedia Flash

Flash facilitates the creation of animated movies that can then be placed on a web page for display. Flash animations are usually small in size (as compared to animated gifs) because they employ vector processing. Using ActionScript, Flash's in-built language, you can develop very complex interactive presentations, games and more.
Flash allows you to save your creations as web graphics (GIFS and JPEGS).
You'll find tutorials on Flash on this site Flash tutorial and Advanced Flash tutorial
Macromedia Freehand
![]()
Another good product from Macromedia, but it has failed to gain the same kind of fame as CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator. It is an image creation tool and integrates well with other Macromedia products.
