Remove the Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers pop up box
Posted on April 8, 2011 under Yahoo | Leave a comment
I have been with SBCGlobal and decided to get a Yahoo.com address. There is a box that points to the Yahoo symbol at the top left portion of the page THAT WILL SIMPLY NOT GO AWAY. It says, “Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers”. I have rebooted and every time I log in to my new email this box appears and I am unable to close it. Please HELP!
Maureen
Congratulations on creating a Yahoo ID which I consider the best email service in the world. It’s sad to know that you are facing this problem but take heart, the Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers pop up box can be removed for good in less than a minute.

Yahoo phone number
I’ve not been able to access my email account for the past two days. Is there a Yahoo phone number to which I can call and get assistance? I’m sure the password is correct as I have used it for years.
Trevor Malisa
I’m aware of three Yahoo phone numbers. However, please note the following:

I can’t access my email which is on Yahoo! Mail. When I launch the address it will display something like Connection closed by a remote server. I am not sure what is wrong. It started happening a lot the last few days; before I could check Yahoo mail without problems.
Promise Chizzy Nneji

Emoticons and courier font issue at Yahoo
Why I can’t insert emoticons anymore? For few days already, when I compose or reply to e-mails, the emoticons options bar is not available and also the font is Courier instead of Arial, which used to be by default. Any ideas?
Clare Hopkins
The reason why your Yahoo! account has stopped showing emoticons and has started to display text in the Courier font is because you have (probably accidentally) shifted to composing messages in plain text format. You can reverse this action with just one mouse click. More »

I’d quite like to see my pen name at the email account; at present, my first name is shown. Is there a way to change the name which is displayed by Yahoo?
Margaret May
It’s quite easy to change the display name on your Yahoo account - simply edit the profile information. Here are the instructions – worked out in the Yahoo! Mail All-new interface.

Make a Yahoo Photo album on Yahoo Pulse
Posted on October 22, 2010 under Yahoo | Leave a comment
The tremendous success of Facebook has prompted other big Internet companies to venture into the social networking scene or at least take a fresh look at what they already have (hint to Google and Orkut). Yahoo! Pulse is an ambitious venture and with high expectations probably because millions still use many of other Yahoo services such as email, answers, search engine and the portal.

Block spam at Yahoo email account
Posted on August 14, 2010 under Email, Internet Tips, Yahoo | 1 Comment
I get too much spam at my Yahoo account. I was thinking of changing the email address. But, as you probably know, that’s not easy. Open to any sensible advice.
Donald Morrow
I don’t agree… it’s easy to change a Yahoo email address. But I don’t think it will work in your case… and it does bring forth additional problems. I am kind of surprised that your account is inundated with spam because Yahoo takes great pride in the accuracy of its filter. Anyway, there are two ways to block spam at your Yahoo account. One is to use a free third party service and the other is to pay a nominal sum to upgrade the account to Plus. Let me walk you through these two options. More »
Fonts in email signature
Is it possible to use other fonts in my email signature on Yahoo? I am not happy with what is on offer. I think these fonts are too plain and want something more fancy that actually looks like a signature.
Wayne Detzler
At the time of writing, Yahoo mail has only a few fonts: Arial, Bookman Old Style, Courier, Garamond, Lucida Console, Tahoma, Times New Roman and Verdana. Unfortunately, there is no ‘direct’ way of using a different font in the email signature. However, here is a nice and simple workaround.

I encountered a weird error on Yahoo! Mail a few minutes back. I was awaiting an important email and thought I’ll login quickly at my account. Unfortunately, the system just didn’t let me. Don’t remember my Yahoo account – email address and password
Posted on November 12, 2009 under Yahoo | 2 Comments
I don’t remember my Yahoo account – the email address or my password. I have not used Yahoo since it was installed but would like to start using it now.
Marilyn Eberle
Quick answer: If you don’t remember the Yahoo account, it means it the email address was hardly ever used, if at all. I suggest you simply get a new Yahoo email address. Yes, it’s that straightforward. And don’t fret over the account that you’ve lost as the Yahoo! service will delete it due to inactivity after about 120 days.
