Outlook Express helpfully displays an error message when it’s not able to send email. The message typically has an error number, which for most people carries no meaning and simply adds to the frustration. The Outlook Express 0x800CCC79 error is a case in point. Here is a simple solution to resolve the problem.

How can I add a second email account in Outlook Express? Will it affect the one I already have? What is the best way to separate the messages?
Tania Cowan
A second email account can be set up in Outlook Express exactly the way you had added the first one. All you need are the incoming and outgoing servers and the account login details (username and password).

Programs similar to Outlook Express

Since O.E. doesn’t work on my new Windows 7 laptop, what can I use? I am looking for programs similar to Outlook Express.
Jerry Rochelle
Sadly, Outlook Express is missing on Windows 7 and there is no way you can get it on that operating system – at least that’s what I have learnt. Maybe there is a way to hack into Internet Explorer and the program installation file but I suppose this would entail too much effort. So which email program can you use on Windows 7? Yes, there is Windows Live Mail, but, as most users would tell you, it’s quite different from Outlook Express. However, there is hope!

Download Live email

I have been using live.com as my email. I want to download my mail to my computer and work with it there … offline … comfortably. I HATE the way Live has their display set up. I find their “features” slow and cumbersome. Even though most of that is probably because I have a slow connection… and I cannot do anything about it. I have been floundering around for 2 months trying to resolve this problem. Can you give me any direction??? Thanks. (I have VISTA … ughhhhh)
Ruby
Downloading messages from an online account and storing them on your computer requires the use of an email program or an email client in geeky language. Does Outlook Express, Outlook, or Windows Mail ring a bell? These are all email programs. So which one should you use to download Live email? More »
Email deactivated?
Posted on May 28, 2010 under Outlook Express | 2 Comments
In my old job I had a Hotmail email which was reserved only for official communications. It’s been 18 months since I quit but today I had a need to use that email account again. All my efforts have gone in vain because Hotmail keeps telling me that the email is deactivated and no longer available. I really want this Hotmail email again because I am expecting an important message. Is there a way I can get it back?
Danny Plumb
If you haven’t logged in at the free Hotmail account in more than 90 days, the email would be deactivated! Or, to put it more correctly, the account will be closed by the service and all the messages (and other information) will be deleted.
So if your email address has expired, is there a way to get it back? Would you be able to own the account once again? There is no direct answer to this question. The email address in question may or may not be available… and we’ll get into this in a moment.
