Comcast incoming outgoing server
Posted on July 3, 2010 under Email, ISP | Leave a comment
I have been using a Comcast email on a Windows XP desktop. How can I set up the same on my Windows 7 laptop? Would I need the Comcast incoming and outgoing mail server? Can my email to be accessed from both these computers -is this possible? Lots of questions – apologies – but I am quite confused as to what has to be done.

Roadrunner is a U.S. based company that provides high speed internet access. Thus, each member of you family can have their own email boxes all located under the same service.

Are you away from your work place and want to use your Roadrunner email from a different machine? No need to fret because it’s as simple as ABC. As long as the other machine has an active internet connection, not necessarily one provided by Roadrunner, you can get to your email account without any problem.

Most email accounts, including ones from Roadrunner, can be accessed via webmail. All you need is a web browser and an active internet connection. Any web browser will work with Roadrunner webmail though it’s recommended you pick the latest version of the program. Also, you are not required to use only the Roadrunner high speed internet access – a net connection from another ISP will work just fine!

Roadrunner email on Outlook Express
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Email, ISP, Outlook Express | Leave a comment
All email from your Roadrunner account can be downloaded and saved on your computer with the help of email programs. And Outlook Express is probably the most popular client in the world. Unfortunately, the development and support for it has been stopped and Microsoft urges all users to migrate to Windows Live Mail desktop client.
Outlook Express was the default email program on XP and some older versions of the Windows operating system. It was replaced with Windows Mail on Vista. Both these programs have given way to Windows Live Mail. This new email client is already installed on Windows 7 computers can be quickly loaded on XP and Vista as well.

Set up Roadrunner email on Windows 7 – Windows Live Mail
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Email, ISP, Windows 7 | Leave a comment
I’ve had Roadrunner for many years. Got a new Windows 7 laptop computer and realized there is no Outlook Express. Is there a way to use Roadrunner email on Windows 7? I’ve read your other article on which you recommend Windows Live Mail. Will this work like Outlook Express?
Stacy Jones
If you’ve had Roadrunner on Outlook Express, you can easily configure the account in your new Windows 7 computer. And though there are many email programs available, I recommend Windows Live Mail for the new operating system because I use it myself.

Set up Roadrunner email on the iPhone
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Email, ISP, iPhone | 2 Comments
Roadrunner email is POP enabled, which means you can access it from any device which supports this email protocol. The Post Office Protocol is commonly used by email programs to connect to the server and download messages to the device, whether it’s a computer or a mobile phone.
Your Roadrunner email can be set up on the iPhone through the default Mail application. Thus, emails can be checked from any location… as long as an internet connection is available. Also, once downloaded to your mobile phone, the messages are accessible even when you switch to the ‘Airplane’ mode.

You can download messages from a BTInternet account to your computer by configuring it in an email client. Set up BTInternet email account on Windows 7 – Windows Live Mail
Posted on March 23, 2010 under Email, ISP, Windows 7, Windows Live Mail | 1 Comment
Windows Live Mail is the latest email client from Microsoft and comes as the default email program on Windows 7. FYI, it can be installed on Windows XP and Vista computers too. Even though the program is based on the popular Outlook Express email client (as per Microsoft), message organization and interface of the two are quite different.
To add your BTInternet email account in Windows 7 I recommend using Windows Live Mail – you can actually employ any email client; read the last line in this post. Once the account has been set up on Windows Live Mail, you would be able to download and store email on the local computer. Multiple BT Yahoo accounts can all be added and configured in Windows Live Mail.
