Cannot login at Yahoo mail – LaunchOutage error on Yahoo

I encountered a weird error on Yahoo! Mail a few minutes back. I was awaiting an important email and thought I’ll login quickly at my account. Unfortunately, the system just didn’t let me. I tried several times but to no avail. Below is a screenshot of the error I got when I went through the Yahoo login page.
I am sure the username and password were correctly entered on the Yahoo sign in page; anyway, that doesn’t seem to be the issue. This is different. The system responds with the following message:
The error, LaunchOutage, occurred when trying to connect to Yahoo! Mail.
Yahoo, obviously, does not want to leave their subscribers in the lurch. They mention that the error might be temporary but I could not access email after repeated attempts. There was also a prompt on the page to get to the account through the Mail Classic Yahoo version. That didn’t help at all as I got a “Sorry, the page you requested was not found“. Too bad. I think I’ll wait for 10 – 15 minutes.
I’m not sure if this issue is with only my account or is affecting others as well – I hope it’s the latter because then it will be addressed fairly quickly by the Yahoo technical people.
Update: I was able to get to my Yahoo Mail account after about 15 minutes of encountering the error. Guess it was temporary after all. I had thought of checking the Yahoo email account on my iPhone but could not locate my cell phone. The problem was ironed out in the meanwhile.

I just got the same error while trying to access my Yahoo! acount. It’s not an isolated incident. Nor is it completely fixed I guess!
I am having the same problem that was written about in the above blog post… I hope mine goes away because I cannot access my Yahoo email. Is anyone else currently having the same problem, and if so has anyone been able to do anything to solve it?
I am getting that error message now. Obviously still not fixed.

I am getting an error message of 999..I tried to open an email and got the error message. This never happened to me before. This email is VERY important and I need to see it…now!
I have the same error….been this way for 20 minutes so far…very frustrating.
I and many other users in cannot access our emails – the problem has been persisting now for over 24 hours – when will it be fixed?
