Set up email on iPhone – How to
In other articles I’ve detailed how to configure Gmail, Yahoo and even Hotmail accounts on the Apple cell phone. In fact, any email account, as long as it’s POP3 (or IMAP) enabled, can be set up on the iPhone. You are required to know just the login details – username and password – and the incoming and outgoing servers.

Outlook Express vacation reply
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Outlook Express | Leave a comment
Can you tell me how to set up Outlook Express vacation reply? I would like people to receive a “Do not send email” while I am away.
Margaret Warren
You can have Outlook Express send a vacation reply by using the message rules feature. Though it’s quite simple to create a message rule in Outlook Express, it works only when the email client is running. Thus, if your computer is switched off while you are away on vacation, no replies will be sent. But don’t be disheartened – at the end of this post, I provide a couple of options, one of which may just work for you – let us first tackle the issue at hand.

Are you away from your work place and want to use your Roadrunner email from a different machine? No need to fret because it’s as simple as ABC. As long as the other machine has an active internet connection, not necessarily one provided by Roadrunner, you can get to your email account without any problem.

Most email accounts, including ones from Roadrunner, can be accessed via webmail. All you need is a web browser and an active internet connection. Any web browser will work with Roadrunner webmail though it’s recommended you pick the latest version of the program. Also, you are not required to use only the Roadrunner high speed internet access – a net connection from another ISP will work just fine!

Roadrunner email on Outlook Express
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Email, ISP, Outlook Express | Leave a comment
All email from your Roadrunner account can be downloaded and saved on your computer with the help of email programs. And Outlook Express is probably the most popular client in the world. Unfortunately, the development and support for it has been stopped and Microsoft urges all users to migrate to Windows Live Mail desktop client.
Outlook Express was the default email program on XP and some older versions of the Windows operating system. It was replaced with Windows Mail on Vista. Both these programs have given way to Windows Live Mail. This new email client is already installed on Windows 7 computers can be quickly loaded on XP and Vista as well.

I’ve had Roadrunner for many years. Got a new Windows 7 laptop computer and realized there is no Outlook Express. Is there a way to use Roadrunner email on Windows 7? I’ve read your other article on which you recommend Windows Live Mail. Will this work like Outlook Express?
Stacy Jones
If you’ve had Roadrunner on Outlook Express, you can easily configure the account in your new Windows 7 computer. And though there are many email programs available, I recommend Windows Live Mail for the new operating system because I use it myself.

Set up Roadrunner email on the iPhone
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Email, iPhone, ISP | 6 Comments
Roadrunner email is POP enabled, which means you can access it from any device which supports this email protocol. The Post Office Protocol is commonly used by email programs to connect to the server and download messages to the device, whether it’s a computer or a mobile phone.
Your Roadrunner email can be set up on the iPhone through the default Mail application. Thus, emails can be checked from any location… as long as an internet connection is available. Also, once downloaded to your mobile phone, the messages are accessible even when you switch to the ‘Airplane’ mode.

Difference between Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail
Posted on April 10, 2010 under Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail | 4 Comments
I have been a loyal user of Outlook Express for many years and understand that this program has been replaced by Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 operating system. Can I use all my four email addresses in Windows 7 – even Hotmail and Gmail? It would be nice to know the differences between Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail before I take the plunge. Thankful for any advice and suggestions.
Abraham Pureen
You’ve rightly learnt that Windows Live Mail is the default email software on Windows 7 just like Outlook Express was on Windows XP. The basic function of these programs is to download email from the online server and store in on your computer. However, there are many stark differences between Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail. But before I get into that, let me answer your first question.
