Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Death Anniversary

Dutch scientist known for creating one of the world’s first successful microscopes. He was the first to observe animalcules (probably unicellular micro-organisms), muscle fibres, bacteria, spermatozoa etc. He was the first true microbiologist and is regarded as the Father of Microbiology.
